  • 3‑Pole Female Inline XLR Connector Nickel Housing

Neutrik 3‑Pole Female Inline XLR Connector (Nickel Housing)

    8 in stock

Neutrik NC3FXX – 3‑Pole Female Inline XLR Connector (Nickel Housing) Overview The NC3FXX is a high-quality 3‑pole female (socket) cable-mount XLR connector in Neutrik’s “XX” series. It features a nickel-plated zinc die‑cast housing, silver-plated contacts, improved mechanical design, and enhanced strain relief, making it suited for professional audio cable assemblies and repairs. As an authorized distributor, Tri‑Tek Electronics offers genuine Neutrik products with full warranty and local support in Mesa, Phoenix, and the broader Arizona region. Key Features & Benefits Nickel-plated die-cast shell with robust construction Silver-plated contacts for low-resistance connections Female contact includes a solder barrier to prevent solder from flowing into the mating zone Unique “cage” contact design for consistent contact pressure Solid-metal latch mechanism for secure mating Additional grounding spring contacts for better shell-to-shell continuity Chuck‑type strain relief for stronger cable retention and simplified assembly Polyurethane boot (gland) protects against cable bending stress Ergonomic and compact body design for easier handling Internal threading of shell is shielded from external damage Option for colored rings or boots (for identification) Specifications Parameter Value Contact Capacitance ≤ 4 pF Contact Resistance ≤ 3 mΩ Dielectric Strength 1.5 kV DC Insulation Resistance > 10 GΩ (initial) Rated Current (each contact) 16 A Rated Voltage < 50 V Cable Outer Diameter Range 3.5 – 8.0 mm Maximum Wire Size 2.5 mm² (approx. 14 AWG) Insertion / Withdrawal Force ≤ 20 N Mechanical Life > 1,000 mating cycles Locking Mechanism Latch lock Housing Material Zinc die-cast, nickel plating Contact Material / Plating Bronze base, 2 µm silver plating Insert Material Polyamide PA66 Strain Relief Material Polyacetal (POM) Boot / Gland Material Polyurethane Operating Temperature –30 °C to +80 °C Protection Class IP 40 Application / Usage Scenario This connector is commonly used when building or repairing balanced audio cables, especially where a female end is needed (e.g. connecting to male XLR plugs on mixers, preamps, powered speakers, mic inputs). The installer strips the cable, slides on the boot and strain-relief components, solders the conductors (shield, hot, cold) to the designated solder cups, and secures the assembly using the chuck-type strain relief. The robust mechanical design helps minimize stress on solder joints during regular flexing or movement. For example, in a mobile recording rig, an engineer might use NC3FXX connectors to create balanced microphone extension cables. The high contact integrity, solid latch, and mechanical durability suit demanding field use. Installation Tips & Best Practices Pre-tin both cable conductors and the solder cups before final soldering Use a temperature-controlled soldering iron and minimize dwell time to avoid damaging the insert Ensure that the strain relief clamps the cable jacket instead of conductors Use matching “XX‑series” male connectors to maintain consistent mechanical and shielding interface Optionally, apply colored ring or boot inserts to help label or differentiate channels

  • 3‑Pole Male Inline XLR Connector Black Housing, Silver Contacts

Neutrik 3‑Pole Male Inline XLR Connector (Black Housing, Silver Contacts)

    12 in stock

Neutrik NC3MXX‑BAG – 3‑Pole Male Inline XLR Connector (Black Housing, Silver Contacts) Overview The NC3MXX‑BAG is part of Neutrik’s XX series of XLR cable connectors. It’s a 3‑pole male inline (cable‑mount) connector with a black shell and silver contacts. Designed for demanding audio use, it features enhanced mechanical durability, improved strain relief, and easier assembly compared to legacy XLR connectors. As an authorized distributor, Tri‑Tek Electronics provides genuine Neutrik parts with full warranty support, local pickup or fast delivery in the Phoenix / Mesa / AZ area, and reliable stock for both hobbyist and pro installations. Key Features & Benefits Black housing (KTL / black chrome style) with silver‑plated contacts Solder‑type terminations Rugged zinc die-cast shell, designed for long life Improved locking recess (no “window”) for better shell rigidity Chuck‑type strain relief for stronger cable retention Polyurethane boot for bend protection at the cable exit Internal thread on shell, protected from damage Available colored rings/boots for cable identification or color coding Ergonomic design for easier handling during assembly and connections Specifications Electrical Capacitance between contacts: ≤ 4 pF Contact resistance: ≤ 3 mΩ Dielectric strength: 1.5 kV DC Insulation resistance: > 10 GΩ (initial) Rated current (each contact): 16 A Rated voltage: < 50 V Mechanical / Cable Cable external diameter range: 3.5 – 8.0 mm Maximum wire cross section: 2.5 mm² (approx. 14 AWG) Insertion / withdrawal force: ≤ 20 N Mechanical life: > 1,000 mating cycles Operating temperature: –30 °C to +80 °C Protection class: IP 40 Materials & Construction Contacts: Brass, silver plated (2 µm) Shell / Locking element: Zinc die‑cast alloy Insert: Polyamide (PA66) Boot: Polyurethane Strain relief: Polyacetal (POM) Shell coating: Black KTL / “black chrome” style Typical Use / Application Scenario This connector is ideal for building or repairing microphone cables, instrument leads, patch cables, or custom balanced audio lines. You would strip the cable, pass it through the boot and strain relief, solder the three conductors to the solder cups in the contact insert, then tighten the shell and strain relief. The upgraded strain relief and shell design help resist cable pull or flexing stresses over time. For example, in a live sound rig you might use NC3MXX‑BAG connectors to build custom length mic cables that match your stage layout. The robust build helps prevent failures from repeated handling, and the option for color coded boots or rings makes quick cable identification easier during setup. Installation Tips & Best Practices Pre‑tin both wire ends and connector solder cups before final soldering for cleaner joints. Avoid overheating the plastic insert—use a controlled soldering iron, not excessive dwell time. Ensure proper strain relief: after soldering, tighten the shell and clamp so that mechanical forces act on the boot/relief, not on the solder joints. Use matching XX‑series female connectors to maintain shell contact and shielding. Use colored rings or boots (available separately) for cable identification or channel labeling without altering wiring.

During assembly, the installer slides the boot and strain relief onto the cable, solders the conductors to the connector’s solder cups, and secures the internal components with the chuck-style strain relief. The result is a durable, flexible cable that withstands regular use in both studio and stage environments. An installer might use this connector to fabricate custom-length XLR cables for a stage rack, where consistent performance and mechanical durability are critical. The high mating cycle rating makes it particularly suitable for touring and live audio setups. Tips & Best Practices Pre‑tin both wire ends and connector solder cups before final soldering Avoid overheating the insert during soldering—use a temperature-controlled iron Ensure the strain relief clamps the cable jacket, not just the conductors Pair with XX-series female connectors for best mechanical and electrical fit Add color-coded boots or rings for system organization and channel identification
