Product Overview
The Vigitron Vi1054VPD is a passive video transmitter that combines analog video and 12VDC power over a single Cat-5 cable. Designed with a built-in 24VAC to 12VDC converter, it allows 12VDC-powered cameras to be used in 24VAC power systems. This compact device supports transmission distances of up to 3,000 feet (930 meters) when used with Vigitron active receiver hubs, or up to 750 feet (225 meters) with passive receiver hubs. Its integrated surge protection and high noise immunity make it ideal for demanding surveillance applications.
This model is especially well-suited for structured cabling environments, offering a convenient RJ-45 connection and a 9-inch pigtail output for direct 12VDC camera power. It also supports “up-the-coax” signaling for PTZ control, eliminating the need for additional control wires.

Installation and Application
The Vi1054VPD is ideal for retrofitting older analog CCTV systems or deploying cost-effective new installations where centralized 24VAC power is available. For short-range applications, it can be paired with Vi1200 or Vi1500 passive receivers. For extended runs, pair it with Vi1300 or Vi1400 combiners and Vigitron’s active UTP receivers.
Example Use Case: In a multi-building school campus, the Vi1054VPD allows existing Cat-5 cabling and 24VAC distribution to be reused to power modern 12VDC analog security cameras. This significantly reduces the need for new wiring and lowers overall installation cost.
